A noble 17th Century Flemish Tapestry Panel with later border



A Fine 17th Century Flemish Tapestry Panel depicting a Roman encampment with Roman standard, spears and tents visible in the background. The Emperor, possibly Marcus Arelius, in flowing robes accompanied by plumed Generals with horses in the background preparing for battle, possibly the German Hoards in the last stages of the Roman Empire - 160 AD. Wool and silk thread. Needs restoration for its age, some fading and worn threads.
